B-Wing Fighter
Creating a 1/72 B-Wing with parts of AMT-kit
Return of the Jedi. The battle of Endor. Greates space battle of all times. The B-Wing is figher/bomber seen too few times in the movies. Although the old AMT model comes close to 1/72 scale the kit is useless in some areas. Question was: heavy modification or scratch. I gave the kit a chance and split from detail, cockpit, air intake and many other things that I cut or sanded down. Let's see where it will take me...
A lot of parts replaced or sanded down. the new the back of cockpit remains while the rest was sanded, lengthened and re-shaped. The new air intake built from scratch.
Here you can see the new cockpit.
new cockpit interior and stripes fit on. None of the filming models had a canopy glass.
new nose part with guns and a re-shaped rotating-ring.
Primed engine detail. Lots of things added and replaced.
exhausts drilled out and got different detail to match the original model.
some other detail: missing plating on main wing with some wires in it.
